Clean Air Golf Outing & Clean Vehicles Seminar

Chicago Area Clean Cities hosted its 17th Annual Golf Outing on Thursday, Sept. 7 at the Maple Meadows Golf Club in Wood Dale. The day kicked off with a free Clean Vehicles Seminar with terrific networking. The morning program included:
- An update on the $14.7 Billion Volkswagen Settlement, including funding grants to purchase new trucks, buses, vessels, locomotives, and other non-road equipment, and zero-emissions infrastructure: Volkswagen Settlement Updates by Samantha Bingham, Chicago Department of Transportation and CACC Coordinator
- Electrify America Information
- A presentation on DC Fast Charging for plug-in vehicles and fleets: Fast Charging: How to work with the electric utility by Vito Piceno, ComEd
The seminar was followed by an afternoon of golf and an early dinner. In addition to learning about the latest about the VW Settlement, the seminar offered commercial and governmental fleets, as well as businesses such as hotels, parking garages, rental-car agencies, valet-parking locations, municipalities, and other organizations a chance to benchmark best practices for charging plug-in vehicles.
